Copenhagen, Denmark - 27 August 2024 - Tiimo, the pioneering planning and learning app for people who think differently, today announced the completion of a $1.6 million funding round. Building on their 2022 seed round of $3.2 million, this brings their total raised to $4.8 million pre-series A.
The latest round was co-led by Crowberry Capital and People Ventures, with additional investment from Sweden-based Inner Foundations, which funds mental health focused startups.
The 2022 round included investment from Silicon Valley-based Goodwater Capital and neurodiversity-focused US VC Divergent Investments. The caliber of investors providing funding for Tiimo underscores the growing importance of investing in businesses that prioritize inclusion and accessibility for neurodiverse individuals.
Based out of Copenhagen, Tiimo was founded by two visionary women, Helene Lassen Nørlem and Melissa Würtz Azari. Since announcing their seed funding round two years ago, Tiimo’s user base has more than doubled, boasting over 50k paying subscribers as of August 2024, with more than 3 out of 4 of these identifying as neurodivergent. The app is growing in popularity globally, surpassing 500K free users worldwide.
Despite growing awareness, the unique experiences of neurodivergent individuals—those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia and other cognitive differences—often remain underrepresented. It is estimated that between 15 to 20% of the global population is neurodiverse, including 1-2% diagnosed with autism, 5% with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and up to 10% with dyslexia.
The app provides a customizable visual planner designed by and for neurodivergent individuals as well as their recently launched learning platform Tiimo Learn. The new platform offers specialist educational content, expert advice and research-backed tools to aid neurodivergent users in managing daily life.
Tiimo is also planning to offer their popular planner as a web-based solution, with the launch scheduled for September 2024, making the full Tiimo experience accessible beyond the app for laptop and desktop users.
Founders Helene Lassen Nørlem and Melissa Würtz Azari, who is herself neurodivergent, both ensure the app meets the unique needs of its users. Tiimo’s recent nomination in the inclusivity category for the prestigious Apple Design Awards makes a powerful statement about what true inclusivity looks like in today's world.
The team plan to use the additional funding to further their mission of transforming the lives of the 1 billion people worldwide with ADHD, autism, and other neurodivergent profiles. The near-term focus will be on user growth and scaling existing markets as well as product expansion for the new Tiimo Learn subscription.
